      • Overview of the research

        樹木の生活様式の違い(先駆樹種と遷移後期樹種,陽樹と陰樹など)に基づく生理機能の違いは,樹木の形態や内部構造と密接に結びついている.与えられた環境の下で,光獲得や水輸送に関係する機能を効果的に発揮するような,最適な枝の大きさと角度,道管・仮道管の径と数を樹木は持っているようである.
