      • Overview of the research


        過剰なエネルギー摂取や低酸素といった外部環境に起因する変化や、細胞内の電荷の偏りやpHなどといった、内部環境に起因する細胞レベルの影響まで、生物は日々様々な種類のストレスに晒されています。生命にとってこれらのストレスに応答し、生体内の恒常性を保つための仕組みは非常に重要であり、この機構が破綻すると様々な疾患が引き起こされます。特に、この機構には環境の変化を感知するセンサーが大事な役割を担っており、私はセンサーとなる細胞の受容体の働きを解明することで、これらの異常によって現れる病態を理解し、新たな薬の創出に役立てることを目指しています。
