My research aims at developing flood risk assessment/management methodology, especially for rainfall-runoff/flood inundation model development, construction of probabilistic modeling of extreme floods based on extreme value theory, and their combination with the latest climate change projections. Furthermore, with the development of economic models of society reactions to river/urban planning measures for flood risk management, I desire a society grasping quantitative flood risk and dealing with it properly.
