        Analyze the interaction between virus and host (host cell), and we reveal both the immune host defense mechanisms and viral pathogenicity.
      • Overview of the research

        I am studying about the infectious diseases that are caused by a virus among the microbes that cause illness to humans. Unlike other microbes, such as bacteria and fungus, multiplication of a virus is achieved by using a part of function of a host cell. Therefore, the coexistence of a virus with a host cell is indispensable. Our research focuses on the mechanisms of entry, replication, immune evasion, and pathogenesis of HIV-1 that is a cause of the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).
