        Heat and Mass Transport Phenomena of Multiphase Flow in Material Production Processes
      • Overview of the research

        In heat treating processes of metal products, hot materials are rapidly cooled by quenchant including water, oil-in-water emulsion, aqueous solution of water soluble polymer and so on. As the phase change (boiling) of quenchant essentially arises, the hydrodynamics and heat transfer characteristics are very complex in nature. The fundamental physics of phenomena are studied in detail by means of laboratory-scale experiments and numerical simulations.
