      • Research Topics

        Study on the role of N-glycan in the function of kidney and search for the markers derived from N-glycans related to the kidney failure
      • Overview of the research

        Chronic renal failure is difficult to treat when it is advanced, and therefore research leading to early diagnosis for prevention is important. Recently, it has been reported that the glycosylation pattern in the kidney changes significantly with diabetic nephropathy, a major disease of chronic renal failure, suggesting that glycans can be expected to become new disease markers. Thus, I will search for glycan markers that reflect renal function at an early stage, and aim to analyze the functional role of these glycans.
