      • Overview of the research

        The first objective of my research is to identify and develop new synthetic methods to transform wood into value-added compounds, with a particular focus on functional materials, which can replace widespread ofossil fuel-derived plastic materials, and small molecules of interest to the pharmaceutical and chemical industries.
        In my research, I have been focusing on the use of magnetic nanoparticles as catalyst for the oxidative degradation of lignin, the most abundant aromatic biopolymer on earth and a promising candidate to replace oil towards a more sustainable chemical industry.
