At the Department of Ophthalmology, Kyoto University, Dr. Miyake is engaged in clinical practice specializing in myopia, macular diseases, vitreoretinal diseases, and glaucoma. His research focuses primarily on clinical studies, genomic and epidemiological research, and artificial intelligence. From 2015 to 2017, he worked at the Medical Economics Division, Health Insurance Bureau, Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, where he was involved in advanced medical care and medical fee reimbursement, as well as at the AMED Clinical Research Division, where he contributed to medical research and development. He has served as a Program-Specific Assistant Professor at the Department of Ophthalmology, Kyoto University since July 2017, and as a Program-Specific Lecturer since April 2021.
