My main research interests lie in numerical investigations of problems pertaining to turbulent combustion, occurring under conditions relevant to practical energy conversion devices (e.g., gas-turbines and IC engines). Therefore, I'm currently performing Direct Numerical Simulations (DNS) and Large-Eddy Simulations (LES) of gas-phase turbulent combustion, multi-phase turbulent combustion (i.e., spray combustion), wall-bounded turbulent reacting flows (including spray combustion), combustion instability, as well as hybrid CFD/CAA (Computational Fluid Dynamics/Computational Aero-Acoustics) simulations of combustion noise, on High Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructures. My recent research focuses on the heat transfer phenomenon occurring during flame-wall interaction process under high-pressure conditions, using Conjugate Heat Transfer (CHT) simulations. I have also been actively engaging in collaborative research on developing new robust and computationally efficient models, for implementation in RANS (Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes) simulations and LES frameworks for accurate prediction of turbulent combustion phenomena in both spray and gas combustion.
