  III型フォンノイマン環の研究とそれを用いたエルゴード理論への応用

• 研究概要

  私の専門分野はフォンノイマン環論です．非常に雑に言えば，無限に大きなサイズの行列を研究するもので，フォンノイマンが量子力学の研究のために作った理論です．私が特に興味を持っているのは，「非従順環」と呼ばれる，物理的視点からは出てこない対象の数学的研究です．その名前から連想される通り，その構造は極めて難解です．これらが物理的にどのような意味を持つかは分かっていませんが，数学的対象としては文句なく面白く，やりがいのある研究です．
