My research explores everyday physical experiences, particularly in turbulent and hazardous contexts such armed conflict, environmental pollution, or disasters. I conduct fieldwork in Britain, Ireland, and coastal areas in North-Eastern part of Japan. Recently, I have been investigating people’s entanglement with the surrounding material things in altered or polluted environments, focussing on routine dwelling activities such as eating, resting, caring for oneself & others. Additionally, I am interested in the material and physical practicies traditionally associated with "housework," including cleaning, laundry, and the repair of household goods and dwellings.
