        Study on mechanisms that cause earthquake occurrences
      • Overview of the research

        Triggering of earthquakes and slow-earthquakes caused by the passage of seismic waves from distant large earthquakes, is studied to provide better understanding of the occurrence mechanisms. New instrumental techniques, including fiber optic sensing, are applied to record and analyze various types of seismic data. These studies aim to advance a fundamental understanding of the earthquake occurrence mechanisms and seismic structures and to contribute to seismic hazard assessment.
