My research focuses on photosynthetic CO2-fixation in aquatic environments. Because CO2-fixation is the starting point of the global ecosystem’s material cycle, it is crucial to understand the regulatory mechanisms that maintain the flexibility and robustness of photosynthetic activities in fluctuating environments. I aim to understand the survival strategies of photosynthetic organisms in molecular terms with the help of molecular genetics, high-resolution real-time imaging, and multi-omics analyses using photosynthetic organisms with phase-separated organelles. I believe that my research will provide the genetic and molecular basis for solving various problems facing humanity, such as environmental destruction and food shortages.
