        植物の微量必須元素であるホウ素について、欠乏障害の発生機作、細胞による欠乏感知機構の解明を進めている。また細胞と外部環境の接点である細胞壁が細胞・個体のストレス耐性や環境適応に果す役割を明らかにすることを目的として、細胞壁ペクチンの機能・生合成について研究を行っている。
