      • Research Topics

        A role of structural plasticity in hippocampal memory.
      • Overview of the research

        New memory is formed after neuron establishes the new synapse or strengthens the synapse. Long-term potentiation(LTP) is a persistent increase in synaptic strength following high-frequency stimulation and it is widely considered as one major cellular mechanisms that underlies learning and memory. After LTP induction,the post synaptic spine also becomes larger. this is called structural LTP or sLTP. My research is to study a function of sLTP during memory formation in hippocampus.
