Dr. Keiichi Mizutani is an associate professor of Kyoto University. He received a B.E. degree in electric, electrical and system engineering from the Osaka Prefecture University, Japan, in 2007, and an M.E. and Ph.D. degree in electric and electrical engineering from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, in 2009 and 2012 respectively. He was an invited researcher at Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute, Germany, in 2010. From 2009 to 2012, he was a Research Fellow DC1 at Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). From April 2012 to Sept. 2014, he was a researcher at National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT). From Oct. 2014 to Dec. 2020, he was an assistant professor of Kyoto University. He currently researches the topics of physical layer technologies in White Space Communications, Dynamic Spectrum Access, and Wireless Smart Utility Networks (Wi-SUN) including OFDM, OFDMA, MIMO, and multi-hop relay network systems. Since joining in NICT, he has been involved in IEEE 802 standardization activities, namely 802.11af, 802.15.4m and 802.22b. He received the Special Technological Award and Best Paper Award from IEICE SR technical committee in 2009 and 2010 respectively, the Young Researchers Award from IEICE SRW technical committee in 2016, Certificate of Appreciation for outstanding contributions to the development of IEEE 802.15.4m-2014 from IEEE Standards Association, and Best Paper Award from WPMC in 2014, 2017, and 2020, respectively.
