• Research Topics

  History of the Commentarial Works on the Chinese Classics

• Overview of the research

  Commentarial works on classics represent the quintessence of Chinese classicism. The classics attained their honorable position in Chinese culture and became the core of Chinese spirit only through testified by a variety of interpretations. In my definition, the term “Chinese classics” involves not only the Confucian classics but also other influential works. The aim of my research is to clarify the history of classicism in Chinese society from the Han to the Tang time by verifying the wide range of classics and its interpretations.
