Molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying morphogenesis and organogenesis during vertebrate development. Mathematical approaches are also integrated.
Overview of the research
During vertebrate development, a fertilized egg undergoes massive proliferation and differentiation, and ultimately a variety of tissues and organs are formed. We study the molecular and cellular mechanisms by which morphogenesis and organogenesis are regulated combining with mathematical approaches. We currently focus on vasculature (blood vessels), nervous system (neural crest), and digestive system.
