    • Profile

      これまで主に中国の碑文資料や敦煌寫本資料を用い，中国南北朝隋唐時代の地域社会における実践と信仰について研究してきました。具体的には北朝時代や隋唐時代の碑文に見える天や浄土に生まれる信仰、そして懺悔儀礼の実践などです。最近は唐代造像銘の整理収集を行うとともに，『続高僧伝』の成立過程と隋唐の長安仏教史について日本古写経と碑文資料の比較検討を行いつつ研究を進めています。

        Buddhist history of Medieval China，Buddhist Inscriptions, Interactions between the Three Teachings（Confucianism, Buddhism, Daoism）

      • Overview of the research

        Primarily using inscriptions and Dunhuang Manuscripts, I have studied Buddhist practice and belief in regional societies of medieval China. Specifically, I have examined the spread of beliefs regarding Heaven and Pure Land rebirth and repentance rituals in inscriptions from the Northern, Sui, and Tang dynasties. Currently, I am researching the process by which Xugaosengzhuan came into existence and the history of Chang'an Buddhism during the Sui and Tang dynasties.
