      • Overview of the research

        近年のプロテオミクスや構造解析の結果、数多くのタンパク質の構造や相互作用、細胞内での機能が明らかになりました。今後必用とされるのは、結晶中や溶液中ではなく、細胞中でのタンパク質の構造や機能に関する情報であり、そのための新しい技術であると考えています。細胞の中は300 mg/mLの高分子が密集し、局所的な分子集合体や構造体が形成と崩壊を繰り返すダイナミックな環境です。このような中でのタンパク質の構造・機能・相互作用を解析する技術は生命科学分野において重要であり、現在その開発と応用をおこなっています。
