They are developing bioactive functional materials useful as bone repair materials and dental prosthetic materials, focusing on the "biomimetic method," a ceramic synthesis method learned from the activities of living organisms, aimed at applications in the orthopedic and dental fields. Furthermore, they are researching future medical device materials useful in advanced medical treatments, such as drug delivery systems (DDS) and gene therapy, utilizing the biocompatibility of "apatite," the main inorganic component of living bones, and environmentally compatible functional materials.
