        Molecular biology of human pathogenic virus and development of its treatment
      • Overview of the research

        I aim to reveal the molecular mechanism on pathogenesis of AIDS virus (HIV) and encephalitis- or cancer-associated herpes virus and to develop the treatment for the disease. Especially, I am concentrating how viral restriction factor acts against virus. To know the mechanism, we developed humanized mice (human hematopoetic stem-cell-transplanted mice) as an in vivo model for human pathogen.
