• Research Topics

  Planning, government statistics, and legal systems related to forest resources and private forestry management.Management, history, and legal aspects of forest commons and forest producers' cooperatives.
  

• Overview of the research

  My research mainly explores aspects of forest resources and private forestry planning in Japan, including legal aspects. This research involves a quantitative analysis of forest owners, forest resources, timber supply and demand, timber prices, and traditional wooden house construction, as well as joint research on the effective utilization of government statistics resources such as the Agriculture and Forestry Census and Housing and Land Statistics. My secondary research goal is an economic analysis of forest management in forest commons and forest producers' cooperatives. Most of these cooperatives originated as forest commons; therefore, historical and legal aspects of forest commons are also included in my research.
