    • Profile

      相互行為言語学の立場から、言語(および記号一般)とコミュニケーションの諸問題について研究を行っています。相互行為言語学とは、エスメソドロジー・会話分析の理論と方法論を援用した言語研究の枠組みであり、相互行為場面の観察を通して、人々にとっての実際的課題とそれへの対処との関連で言語現象を理解しようとするアプローチです。私自身は、「言葉のちょっとした形式の違いがコミュニケーションにどのような違いをもたらすか」そして「言葉の形式上の特徴はコミュニケーションのどのような特徴に動機づけられているのか」という問題意識のもと、日本語や英語の日常会話ならびに様々な制度的場面の録音・録画データの分析を行っています。

      • Overview of the research

        My research interests lie both in the effects of interactional/communicative structures on linguistic (syntactic, lexical, and prosodic) patterns and in the effects of linguistic structures on interactional/communicative patterns. Adopting the frameworks of interactional linguistics and conversation analysis, I have been working on video/audio-recordings of everyday conversations and institutional interactions in various settings including students' discussions during university class meetings and speaking practices between Japanese students and international students.
