      • Overview of the research

        植物病原菌や植物共生菌は環境中の物理・化学的要因や宿主などの生物的要因を認知し,その刺激を細胞内で伝達し,特定の遺伝子を発現させて,適応することによって生きています.その機構を明らかにし,人為的にコントロールすることで有害な植物病原菌あるいは有用な植物共生菌を制御しようと研究を展開しています. 植物病原菌のゲノム配列を近縁種の菌類間で比較すると,遺伝子群の重複や獲得が認められます.これらの遺伝子群の破壊株を作出することにより,病原菌の生態における役割を明らかにしようとしています.
