        放電や化学気相成長法などを用いて機能性材料(カーボンナノチューブ、ナノホーン、など)を合成し、水中有害物質の除去やガス燃料貯蔵などの応用に使用するための基礎研究を行っている。また、電界を用いた微粉末の分離、燃料電池・ガスセンサの開発、など、関連技術の研究も行っている。
