      • Overview of the research

        植物感染病の80%以上は、植物病原糸状菌(カビ)によって引き起こされており、糸状菌からの作物保護は非常に重要です。この植物と糸状菌の相互作用の分子機構を、様々な農作物生産に甚大な被害をもたらしている炭疽病菌(Colletotrichum属菌)を中心に研究しており、具体的には、(1)炭疽病菌における共通の感染戦略、(2)炭疽病菌に対する植物の非宿主抵抗性機構、および(3)炭疽病菌エフェクターによる非宿主抵抗性抑制機構に焦点をあてています。そして、これらの研究により得られた知見を作物保護に応用していくことを目指しています。
