        哺乳動物の受精卵の発生・分化におよぼす環境要因の影響とその評価
      • Overview of the research

        サステナビリティ「持続可能性」は近未来の地球上生命の安定した存続のためには取り組むべき重要な課題と言えますが、宇宙科学・地球科学的視点でとらえれば地球の環境はもともと全く持続的ではありません。天体の衝突、宇宙線、火山活動、地震といった地球上生命の活動とは別次元の要因によって地球環境は大きな変化を繰り返してきました。そんな中での、地球上生命の約40億年にわたる「生殖(分野によって繁殖とも言いますが、英語ではどちらもReproductionです)」の持続可能性にワクワクしています。「生殖」を可能にしてきたシステム・メカニズムとそれを脅かす要因についての研究にドキドキしながら取り組んでいます。翻って「生殖」の研究から、本当の意味での「持続可能性」のヒントが得られるような気がしています。
