      • Overview of the research

        Dr. Nishino’s research interests are to develop computational models for predicting the behavior and impact of natural hazard triggered large outdoor fires including earthquake fires and tsunami fires, to propose rigorous methods for quantitatively assessing the fire risk, and to present recommendations for reducing the fire risk. He conducts his research with an interdisciplinary approach without being bound by the field of building fire safety engineering. He is hoping that the research results will be widely used in practical applications for disaster risk management and effectively contribute to disaster risk reduction and resilience enhancement.
