      • Overview of the research

        日本各地で甚大な被害を及ぼし続ける2つの昆虫伝搬性森林流行病、マツ材線虫病とブナ科樹木集団枯損について、分子レベルでの発病メカニズム解明に取り組んでいる。宿主樹木と病原微生物の間の初期認識応答および病原微生物の遺伝的特性を精査することで、発病決定因子の特定を目指す。また、宿主樹木の誘導抵抗性を利用した効果的な防除法を開発すべく、被害林分での応用研究も行っている。
