      • Overview of the research

        Cell cycle checkpoints are responsible for preventing the onset of a cell cycle event if the preceding one is incomplete. Their primary role is to cope with DNA damage by preventing cell cycle progression until damage on the genome DNA is repaired. Loss of a checkpoint function would result in instability of the genome structure and may cause serious diseases such as cancer. We are, in particular, interested in checkpoints responsible in mitosis.
