      • Overview of the research

        プロトン輸送性 NADH-ユビキノン酸化還元酵素(複合体-I)は、ミトコンドリア呼吸鎖の初発酵素であり、NADH から放出される2電子によってユビキノンを還元し、これと共役して4個のプロトンをポンプする。哺乳類ミトコンドリアの複合体-Iは、45個の異なるサブユニットから構成される巨大な酵素複合体であるために、呼吸鎖酵素中で最も研究の進展が遅れている酵素である。阻害剤の有機合成と作用機構研究を基盤として、複合体-I研究を進展させることを目指している。

        また、種々のエネルギー変換生体膜におけるユビキノンやカルジオリピンの生理機能の解明を目指した生物有機化学研究も展開している。
