        Research on quantum technologies (quantum information and quantum sensing ) based on quantum optics and nano photonics
      • Overview of the research

        光子や電子などの「量子」は、古典的な粒子とは全く異なる振る舞いをします。 それらの「量子状態」を制御することで、 従来のコンピュータでは時間がかかりすぎ解くことのできない問題を解く「量子コンピュータ」や、 観測出来なかった現象を観察する「量子計測」などの実現が期待されています。これらに関し、次の様な研究を進めています。
        光量子情報:  光量子コンピュータ・光量子シミュレータの実現を目指す研究です。 私たちはこれまでに、光子と光子の間の「量子干渉」を駆使した世界最大級の光量子回路を実現してきました。 現在、集積光量子回路の研究も推進、光子を用いた量子もつれの研究を行っています。
        光量子計測:光子ひとつ一つを操った「量子光」を用いることで、従来の光計測の感度や分解能を飛躍的に高める研究を進めています。 現在、量子光コヒーレンストモグラフィや赤外量子吸収計測の研究を進めています。
        ナノフォトニクス: 半導体量子ドットやダイヤモンドの極小微粒子などの単一発光体(人工原子)から、高効率で光子を光ファイバへと入出力するために、共振器内蔵ナノ光ファイバの実現をおこなってきました。将来的には光量子メモリなどのデバイスや、量子センサへの応用が期待されます。
