      • Overview of the research

        Prof. Nawata is studying the dynamics of local agricultural resources and agricultural systems and their evaluation, indispensable for sustainable agricultural production in the tropics. In addition, He is studying physiological and ecological mechanisms of tolerance of plants to various environmental stresses, such as heat, drought, soil salinization and waterlogging, in the tropical crops. Crop evolution of tropical crops mainly utilized in tropical Asia is also one of his major subjects.
