Mark Peterson (PhD, University of Edinburgh) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Language Sciences within the Graduate School of Human and Environmental Studies at Kyoto University. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Frazer Faculty of Education, Ontario Tech University in Canada. With over 25 years of experience in computer-assisted language learning (CALL), Dr. Peterson is a leading researcher in the field. He authored Computer Games and Language Learning (Palgrave) and edited Digital Games and Language Learning: Theory, Development and Implementation (Bloomsbury). Currently, he is the founding editor of the New Directions in Computer Assisted Language Learning book series (Routledge) and joint editor of Advances in Digital Language Learning and Teaching (Bloomsbury). Dr. Peterson also founded and directs a specialized research lab dedicated to exploring how digital technologies enhance foreign language learning (https://petersonlab.weebly.com).
